      Inhalation is the fastest and the most direct way of experiencing essential oils.

      SKIN APPLICATIONS
      Creating or using with pure essential oils bring many benefits to body, mind and spirit. The power of touch and massage is a wonderful way to relax and destress. A simple shoulder rub after a long day at the computer will revive the spirit. A hand massage to an ailing family member gives comfort and love.

      BATH / FOOT BATH
      A BATH allows the essential oils to enter the body through the skin and through inhalation and is a wonderful way to relax or create a soothing FOOT SPA by adding essential oils to a foot spa bowl of warm water. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
      • Fill the bath with warm water
      • Add your selected oils to 1 tablespoon of milk and shake well (milk helps disperse the essential oils into water)
      • Pour into the bath and swish water vigorously to dispense the oils
      • Sprinkle some flower petals. Lay back and enjoy!

      COMPRESS
      A COMPRESS is a great way to apply essential oils to a particular area of the body to soothe and relax such as for general aches and pains, tension, irritation, cramps. They can be used to warm or cool an area.
      • Blend 4-5 drops of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of milk. Add to 100ml water and swish water to disperse oils. Soak a face washer in the water, wring it out and cover the effected area. Keep re-applying compress as required.
      • Warm compress – apply hot water bottle over the compress, soothing for muscular aches and pains.
      Cold compress – apply an ice pack wrapped in a towel over the compress, soothing for the irritated skin conditions, swellings, headaches or when feeling hot and sweaty! Do not leave the ice pack on for more than 5 minutes.

      WHEN YOU READ THE PRODUCT LABEL CAREFULLY…

      You may be very surprised at the ingredients that you will find behind the pretty pictures on the labels and packaging.



      The good news is that not only do we save money by returning to simple, time-honoured method, we also help to save
      our Earth by reducing waste and eliminating toxic materials from our rubbish, waterways and the air we breathe.


      There a many oils to consider for general use including eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint, rosemary
      and tea tree, to name a few.

      HEALTHY AFFORDABLE INGREDIENTS TO CREATE A GREEN HOME INCLUDE:

       

      • BAKING SODA (Bicarbonate of soda) is a pantry staple that effective cleans, deodorises, brightens and cute through grease and grime.
      • WHITE DISTILLED VINEGAR effectively (and gently!) removes grease, soap scum and grime. In laundry, it can also disinfect washing.
      • UNREFINED SALTS serve as a catalyst for other ingredient, such as vinegar. It boosts cleaning and  deodorising action. It also prevents colours running when added to laundry.
      • ESSENTIAL OILS not only make great scent additions to homemade cleaning product they also contain properties that enhance general health and wellbeing.

       

      WHEN CREATING GREEN PRODUCTS, RECYCLE AND REUSE!
      • Use clean glass jars or bottles, or clean and recycle spray bottles.
      • Label and date every new creation. Shake well before use.
      • List all ingredient on the label so you will remember what ingredient are in you creation should you wish to make it again.
      • Store in the dark, cool environment.
      • Keep all product out of reach of children and pets.


        A FEW IDEAS TO GET YOU GOING!

        ALL PURPOSE CLEANER

        1/4 cup White vinegar
        3/4 cup Water
        30 drops Selected Essential oil(s) glass bottle

        Recommended essential oil combination:

        • 15 drops each of Lavender and Lemon OR
        • 10 drops each of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Orange


        Direction:

        1. Add ingredient together in a bottle.
        2. Shake thoroughly




        SINK, SHOWER & TUB CLEANER

        10 drops:
        Selected essential oil(s)
        1 cups:
        Baking Soda
        Shake container
        Sponge
        Small seive

        Recommended essential oil combination:

        • 5 drops each of Tea Tree and Lemon or
        • 5 drops each of Rosemary and Peppermint


        Direction:

        1. Put baking soda into a sieve.
        2. Drop essential oils into baking soda.
        3. With fork mix and press the oils so they combine with the baking powder.
        4. Pour into a shaker type container with large holes (small holes tend to clog up).
        5. Sprinkle onto surface to be cleaned.
        6. Rub gently with a damp sponge and rinse.

      SHOE DEODORISER

      20 drops:
      Selected essential oil(s)
      1 cups:
      Baking Soda
      Glass jar with airtight lid
      Sieve

      Recommended essential oil combination:

      • 10 drops each of Tea Tree and OR
      • 5 drops each of Rosemary and Peppermint

      Direction:
      1. Put baking soda into a sieve.
      2. Drop essential oils into baking soda.
      3. With fork mix and press the oils so they combine with the baking powder.
      4. Sprinkle into shoe.
      5. Let it sit overnight.
      6. Tip out in the morning into kitchen drain to cleanse the drain. Brush excess powder from shoe or rinse with damp cloth.

       

      FABRIC SOFTENER CRYSTALS

      20 drops:
      Selected essential oil(s)
      1 cups:
      Sea salt
      Glass jar with airtight lid

      Recommended essential oil combination:

      • 10 drops each of Lavender and Lemon
      • 5 drops each of Eucalyptus and Orange Sweet

      Direction:
      1. Pour salt into jar.
      2. Blend in essential oil.
      3. Add 1-2 tablespoons into your laundry load and wash as normal.

      KITCHEN DISINFECTANT

      6 drops:
      Selected essential oil(s)
      10ml:
      White distilled vinegar
      Spray bottle

      Recommended essential oil combination:

      • 3 drops each of Tea tree and Eucalyptus
      • Alternatively, use Breathe blend

      Direction:
      1. Pour vinegar into spray bottle.
      2. Add in essential oils.
      3. Top up with plain water
      4. Apply on counter tops and wipe with sponge.



      LIKE OUR IDEA! KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING TIPS :
      • Follow instructions carefully as some ingredient must be combined in a particular sequence.
      • Only use 100% pure essential oils in your recipes. Do not use chemical fragrance oils.
      • Always label your creations properly so you know what is in each container.
      • Never mix commercial product with homemade product – they can create a toxic reaction.
      • Take care not to spray any of the products you make into eyes.
      • Always test them on yourself first.
      • Remember to keep all your products out of reach of children and pets.
